This Brirish quintet consisting of Ben Keenan (vocals), Hugh Harvey &
Andy Pritchard (guitar & backing vocals), Rich Ingham (bass) and G
(drums) was formed in 2003 as a reaction to the stagnant Essex music scene.
Since, they've released several samplers of their music, of which the
"Sepia" EP gained them considerable praise from many corners
of the Rock press, and their "2004 Sampler" got voted N°8
in GigsUnlimited's Top Ten CDs of 2004. They also gained quite a reputation
as a live band. As a first release following the deal with Casket comes
this 2-track CD-single.
The label describes the band's music as bringing "...together the
intensity of Poison The Well with the passion of The Deftones...".
Meanfiddler.com described it as "...a thunderous mix of Funeral
For A Friend's emotion and Poison The Well's heaviness...". In other
words, this is agressive Emocore with technical expertise, and a certain
degree of complex melody! But melody first, rather than complexity, though!
Now, these 2 songs are not really much to go on, but they sure are well
worth the trouble being picked up...and so thinks the label, apparently,
because this single will be available internationally. Personally, I'm
hoping they get their shit together quickly enough to record a full-length
album! Something to look out for, really!
